As if Pan American wasn't already a pretty exciting

and romantic company- with state-of-the-art

seaplanes, exotic island hotels, speed boats, woodie station wagons- in 1937 they also purchased the four masted schooner "Trade Wind" to be their

permanent Pacific island supply ship. For any young man seeking adventure in the 1930's, working for Pan Am must have been the ticket! And in fact, some Pan Am employees did go all the way from the

seaplane era to the jet age with the company.
