Charles Lindbergh getting ready to take a

spin in a Pan Am S-38. Very likely it was in

this case a promotional flight for PAA's new

seaplanes. Lindbergh played an important role in attracting passenger business to Pan Am as the American public greatly admired him.

They also felt it must be safe if an aviation hero was helping to guide the PAA program- and so he helped gain their trust in flying. Lindbergh always enjoyed the opportunity to go out and fly a plane as he was never really comfortable with being a

public figure. He spent his final years near Hana, Maui and is buried in a small church grave site.
