Two nice Hawaii ladies help to dedicate two new S-38's to the Inter-Island Airways fleet, taking care with the champagne bottles to not dent the shiny new seaplanes. I.I.A. planes were very close to Pan Am blue with red trim. It was not by chance that I.I.A. wanted to model themselves closely after Pan Am. Pan Am did not provide inter-state air service so I.I.A. was the natural compliment for Pan Am passengers arriving in Honolulu who wanted connections to Kauai, Maui and the Big Island. |
