The Hall Aluminum Company came up with this little pre-war two-engine bi-wing seaplane. Originally developed in 1930 for the Navy, the PH-3 version became one of the U.S. Coast Guard's prime patrol planes in WW-II. Actually, bi-wing planes were great for submarine hunting and the PH-3 could cruise a coast line for up to 20 hours with an effective 2000 mile range. |
