Inside the cockpit deck the B-314 was the 1930's "Starship" of its era. Very spacious, the pilot, co-pilot, navigator, radio operator and flight engineer had direct interaction with one another and large windows to view weather, take navigational measurements and observe the four Wright fourteen cylinder radial engines with adjustable pitch propellers. It was "state-of-the-art" and an exciting leap ahead for civilian air travel. The floor hatch door leads down to the passenger area. |
